Little Nicky 2 (2025)

In recent weeks, the internet has been ablaze with posters and supposed “trailers” teasing Little Nicky 2: Hell Takes a Vacation, prompting die-hard Adam Sandler fans to rejoice at the idea of Satan’s sweet, awkward son returning to Earth. But before you dust off your Popeye’s chicken and blast Ozzy Osbourne, let’s set the record straight: there’s no official confirmation that Little Nicky 2 is happening.

The frenzy began with a slick, fan-made poster that quickly went viral—complete with a fake Netflix logo and a tagline promising a hellishly good time. Soon after, clips from the original 2000 film were re-edited into a faux trailer that racked up millions of views on TikTok and YouTube. The nostalgic buzz felt real—but unfortunately, the project is not.

Trusted outlets like Snopes, The Direct, and Yahoo Entertainment have all debunked the rumor. The materials were traced back to previously released promotional content from Little Nicky, cleverly repackaged to fuel a fan fantasy. There’s been no word from Adam Sandler, Happy Madison Productions, Netflix, or any major studio about a sequel being in development.

That hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about what a follow-up could look like. Ideas floating around include Nicky becoming a dad, trying to raise a half-angel/half-demon child on Earth; a new threat from Heaven (or a corporate Hell takeover); and even a crossover with other Sandlerverse characters like Bobby Boucher or Billy Madison. But again—pure fan fiction.

It’s worth remembering that Little Nicky wasn’t exactly a critical darling or box office success. Despite its surreal humor and cultish charm, the film only grossed about $58.3 million against a reported $80–85 million budget. Critics were brutal. Still, the film found new life through home video, late-night cable, and a generation of fans who appreciate its bizarre, earnest weirdness.

Sandler himself has shown no recent interest in returning to Nicky. His current focus is reportedly on Happy Gilmore 2 (which is confirmed and in development), as well as various Netflix comedy-dramas and voice work. Unless there’s a major shift in demand—or unless Sandler feels like getting weird again—it seems unlikely that he’ll resurrect the half-demon oddball anytime soon.

For now, Little Nicky 2 remains a pitchfork fantasy: fun to imagine, funny to fake, but not grounded in reality. Still, as with any cult classic, hope lingers in the underworld. Fans know that in Hollywood, stranger sequels have happened.

So grab your talking bulldog, cue the heavy metal, and keep your ears open. But until the devil himself confirms it…
